“Go ye, therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you …”
— Mt. 28:19-20
The mission of the church is to bring glory to God by loving Him and enjoying Him forever. This happens in many ways, both locally and internationally. Primarily this love is displayed on the local level by a community of people who love Christ by loving each other in tangible ways. Our burdens and joys are shared as we worship and serve God as a congregation.
At Christ Community Church we believe that each believer has been gifted with certain abilities for the edification of the Church. This happens both within and outside of the congregation with the oversight of the elders. CCC is involved in local evangelical, discipleship and benevolent efforts. The congregation is encouraged to give to, share with, pray for and participate in these ministries.
The Care Center of Jackson has been a partner in ministry with CCC for many years. The center serves as a homeless shelter for women and children. In addition to providing shelter for the homeless the center also provides a fertile soil for discipleship. Nathan Young serves as the center’s director and has been instrumental in the discipleship of many men and women associated with CCC.
Birth Choice Crisis Pregnancy Center is a local ministry that reaches out to young women who are in a crisis pregnancy. The center provides counseling and life skills training for many young women (and often young men) who have been faced with difficult decisions. The center provides an alternative to abortion, and counseling for women who have had abortions. Birth Choice is also active in the local schools promoting sexual abstinence.
